Early 70’s Car Chase Movie

I remember seeing a car chase movie at the drive-in back in the early ’70’s as a teen, and I cannot remember the name of the movie. One of the scenes that sticks out in my mind was when the driver of the car being chased by cops ducks into a local Earl Scheib and has the car painted in like 30 minutes, then gets away only to be chased again when the cops figure out that he has had the car painted.

    1. Could be. I guess I am going to have to go online and try to find the DVD. I was also thinking Gone in 60 Seconds (1974), but I haven’t seen it in decades. I was also wondering if it may have been Aloha, Bobby and Rose. I vaguely remember Paul Le Mat driving the car that got painted at the Earl Scheib during the chase scene, but he wasn’t in Gone in 60 Seconds. Anyway, thanks for the reply!

  1. I know this is long overdue, but it was indeed Aloha Bobby and Rose. “Bobby” (Paul Le Mat) and “Rose” (Dianne Hull) are trying to outrun police who are after them for crimes they didn’t actually commit. Because the police are looking for a red Camaro, Bobby ducks into a local Earl Scheib and gets his red ’68 Camaro painted black for some ridiculously low price.
