Name of 50s/60s Sword and Sorcery/Fantasy Type Film with witch who could turn people to stone

So, I remember seeing this film in the theatre when I was a kid, probably early 60s, and the scene I recall vividly from the film featured what I think was a witch – type creature and one of her powers was that she could turn people to stone when she looked at them. I am pretty sure she was not a Medusa sort of creature with snakes for hair. Anyway, in this scene, she had the heroine (maybe a princess?) trapped on this sort of bed or divan and there as a drape on the wall behind the heroine. As the witch was beginning to use her stone-turning gaze on the girl, she fainted and as she swooned, she fell back onto the fabric, which fell to expose a mirror on the wall, and the witch turned into stone herself, and the heroine was safe to be reunited with her love/the hero. That’s really all I remember about the movie but I can replay that scene over and over in my head, for some reason. I do recall that it was definitely in color and in English, though it might have been dubbed, as many sword and sorcery/fantasy films are. It had a typical feel like the Sinbad/Harryhausen type film – elaborate costumes, castles, etc…Not much to go on, but this has been driving me crazy for years!
