I remember  this movie from the early 90’s (possibly late 80’s), centered around a home invasion and the subsequent kidnapping of a young boy. I believe one if not both of the parents are brutally murdered (shotgun?). the two kidnappers then take the boy on some kind of road trip. the only other scene that I recall is while driving, one of the men intentionally runs over an animal,  then says something like “that’s five dogs” and laughs about it.  I remember being quite traumatized by this film and it’s disturbing material. it probably didn’t help that I was approximately 8-10 yrs old at the time.
