I saw this move in middle school, although I would imagine it was much older. It involved an eccentric stranger who moved into a castle. There were scenes with him carrying bucket of water over and over again. When a group of bullies knocked some of the buckets out of his hands, thus spilling the water all over the floor, and asked what he would do in retaliation, the stranger says something along the lines of  “Keep carrying water.”

As the movie progresses, he befriends another youth in the castle. At the end, it turns into a metaphysical commentary on what is reality and how nothing is real other than what we believe.
