I remember this movie as Superstition (1982) as previously solved but my friend says that’s not the movie she remembers; it must be a different movie. It’s about a witch who runs a guest house and she kills her guests. She kills an African American family (the mom has a big afro). The hero of the movie is reading about this very occurrence in a book as the witch is killing the family, then the book catches fire. It’s definitely a movie from the 70s or 80s and not an episode of a TV show. Thanks.
