Watched it at least 5 years ago. Was in color. I’m 99% sure the title was one word (and it was something medical sounding, like Quarantine). Genre was medical thriller, but it wasn’t horror. Took place in America I think (was in english).
The plot: Some kind of deadly virus (no zombies here, just a virus that kills you) infects a few people. Medical professionals find out and set up one of those quarantine tents, but turns out they don’t have ALL of the infected. One of the infected that slipped away is an asshole guy that thinks this is all a waste of time, he goes around accidentally and unknowingly infecting people (in one scene he was in a store and they were trying to figure out via the cameras who he interacted with). However it never got to a global pandmic level – they managed to gather up all the infected before it was too late.
I looked it up but it seems most movies with similar plots end up with half the planet infected. I don’t think this happened, but hey if you recognize some of the scenes, any suggestion is good.
Thanks in advance!
“Outbreak”?
It was released in 1995. Below is the trailer from YouTube.

I remembered an asshole character played by a young Patrick Dempsey.
Or “Pandemic” (2009)?

Trailer:
Possibly Planet Terror (2007)
Just on the off chance, the beginning of “The Stand” has a guy escaping a medical facility that is placed under quarantine. The movie isn’t really about the illness, though, but more about good v.s. evil.

Andromeda Strain maybe?
