Very late one night I saw part of a very long post-apocalyptic film (as in multiple hours), maybe filmed in Australia or about Australia. I though that it ended in a cave. Seen in the 80’s, I think.

Definately not Mad Max related. It was a very long film or maybe a mini-series that I watched in one sitting. Not a mainstream feature film, at least not in the U.S.

O.K! This one is solved-I was thinking about it again this morning and the answer just popped into my head. It was Wim Wenders “Until the End of the World” I saw the original release in 1991 and the almost 5 hour directors cut a few years later.
