they showed us this movie in elementary school in the early 2000s. As I remember the plot, it was an orphan young man (adult actor with fair skin and dark hair) who had a mangled hand that he kept wrapped up. He was up in logging country and he was always singing “this is my fathers world”.  It was in color and i think it was set in the early 1900s/late 1800s. There might have been a little love story with the boss’s daughter, but really all I remember is the mangled hand and him walking in the woods singing “this is my fathers world”.
