I think it was still the 50s when I saw this on Frandsen’s Features, an afternoon LA movie show. So many great movies, some duds. This one really affected me but I can’t seem to find it. Sometimes I think maybe it was a Twilight Zone episode, but her goes.
Main character, a maybe 40yo man, starts seeing a symbol on the forehead of people and they end up getting killed somehow. Try as he might he can’t prevent it. A group of school children all have it as they board a train. Eventually he looks in a mirror and sees it on his own forehead. I always though the actor was Herbert Lom, but can’t find it. I would love to solve this personal mystery! Thanks.
There must be a remake cause this is the exact plot of a more recent movie. Im gonna figure it out.
The Frighteners (1996)?

looked at that after googling even though it was way too new.
Dang I know what I was thinking it was an episode of The Misfits. But I remember what you are talking about and will try to think of it. cause I remember the scene on the train very well.
Its not the Frightner’s — says its from the 1950s
ah. missed that. or read it as “i was still in my ’50s…” which doesn’t make much sense, but hey.
i was born in 49 and became a film fanatic by the time i was ten! for this movie to be on daytime teevee even in the early sixties i figure it was from the 40s or early 50s.
It does sound like “The Twilight Zone”, particularly the episode called “The Purple Testament”.
nope, not military. guy wore a suit.
The movie you described sort of sounds like 1948’s Night Has A Thousand Eyes with Edward G. Robinson, but I’m not sure that is the one you mean. It has been a long time since I saw it and I cannot recall much from it.
