Movie I watched 20+ years ago. This guy goes to a foreign (Asian?) country, falls in love with a girl…but because of him, a war breaks out – to get the Asians to fight with him, he promises the girl’s father if anyone in their family dies, the father can kill him. The war is won, but the girl’s brother dies. So the man is shot with his own rifle and burned on a pyre at the end.

God AWFUL movie, but I’ve been trying to find out what movie it was for YEARS!
