I saw this movie before 1997 buy most likely 95ish. It was color and on tv. I Remember it starts off with a cast of people who worked on a kids tv show. They controlled this large puppet like characters that looked like dolls (if I remember correctly) by electronics connected to their bodies. The cast would stand off stage and act out the movements of the doll/puppets on stage. At one point one of the doll/puppets starts to move on its own. It kills someone with a giant pair of scissors (if I an correct). The woman who controls this character is then locked up because they think she committed the murder because she “is the only one who can control the doll/puppet” I can’t remember if they start of by putting the woman in jail and then move get to a psych hospital or not. The doll/puppet of course keeps murdering. I think it starts to kill of other members of the cast. As a kid I remember being pretty terrified of the woman telling the truth – She didn’t kill anyone – and no one believing her. Please help. I have spent hours researching and i haven’t come up with the name.
