I saw this on tv in about 1982. A kids film, I think with puppets or stopmotionn. Set in “fantasy times”. There was a boy and girl on the run in a forest I think, the girl had red hair and wasn’t human, I think with an Eastern European name. She was maybe a doll maybe a robot or clockwork girl and they were in love and she wanted to be human. I think she died at the end, I remember being very upset (I was seven).
There is a chance this could be Jack Frost (1979 film)?
