I watched this in 6th grade (2012) on Netflix.  The start of the movie was a boy and his dad who had live in the woods all of their lives.  Then they go out to get water and the dad’s leg gets stuck in a log and the bone breaks out of his skin.  They get back home and his dad is slowly dying.  Further on the dad dies the boy runs out into the woods and someone takes him in.  And he goes to some school.  Take note that the boy has really long hair and it looks cool.  He gets in a fight with a bully at school who he knees in the balls.  He also escapes from the school,  that’s all I can remember please help!
