It seems there was a movie, I went to see at the local cinema at the mall with my older brother, in the early to mid-1970’s.  I could not have been more than 6 or 7 years old.  This was not a really popular or well-known movie, as I surely would have been able to locate it by now.  I have made several attempts to find the name of this one over the last 10-15 years and I have always been unsuccessful.

So I am going to say around the 1974-76 time frame for this one.  It was a family-oriented movie.  I believe it was rated G.  However, I don’t think it was a Disney movie, as I am familiar with most of those.  It dealt with these teenage guys (white, age 17-18), maybe brothers or very good friends,  that owned a specially modified car, possibly a dune buggy, something around that size or something like it.  They had typical bushy blonde 70’s hair, and drove around in the car, having adventures.   The car could do things most  cars could not.  For instance,  it could be converted into a boat.  The wheels would pop out and go horizontal, then spin, thus powering the car through the water.   It seems that they were close to a beach, and they drove the car on the beach sometimes where they talked to girls.

Another scene I distinctly remember was where the guys pulled the car into an alley; they wanted to spy on someone in an upper-story window.  The car’s wheels extended out a few feet from the car, turned outward so that the tread of the tires made contact with the walls on either side, and made a very tight hold on the wall.  Then the car was able to CLIMB UP THE ALLEY WALLS, til it got to the window, and then they were just able to peer in the window to see what was going on.  I remember nothing else about the movie.  I can’t picture the car in my mind, in more than the vaguest terms.  Probably a two-seater.  Since that day in the 1970’s, I never saw the movie again, but I never forgot it.  I would love to see it again.  I suspect it would be one of those films that would impress an 8-year old but probably not an adult.  Be that as it may I have been driven almost crazy trying to find the title.  Please help!
