I remember watching this movie when I was a kid so it had to be in the early to mid 80s. It might have been a TV movie, in color and English. I remember a boy finding a deer (possibly injured?) and bringing it back to his apartment (I think) in the city. There was a cardboard box I think the deer was in. And I remember an African American guy was a police or officer or detective. I thought it was the actor Bill Nunn but I looked on his list of movies that he’s been in but it’s not there.
