I saw this movie (I think it was a movie) on TV circa 1989. It was in English and was in color – I seem to remember a lot of red (red couch and maybe red curtains).

The scene I remember is this guy is waiting in a woman’s apartment for her to finish getting ready. Somehow her pet dies (I think it was a black cat but I’m not 100% sure of that) and he tries hiding it under a couch cushion but its too bulky. Then he tries hiding it in the top of a torchiere floor lamp but it starts smoking. Then he tries throwing it out the window but the window won’t open far enough.

That’s all I can remember but I can tell you it is NOT Cold Duck Soup or Something About Mary.

This has been driving me crazy so I hope there is SOMEONE out there that knows what this scene is from.
