I’ve been wondering about this for awhile but I remember watching tv and there was an episode (I’m 70% sure it was not a movie), maybe from Law and Order SVU, about a man in the beginning of the episode that commits a crime knowing that he will get caught. When he does, he says something along the lines of “I was wondering when you’d catch me,” and tells the detectives that he wanted to get caught so that they look into his daughter’s horrific gang rape case. When they talk to the daughter, she’s very traumatized. After doing further investigations, those accused try to cover up the crime by attempting(? – don’t remember if he actually died) to kill the father in prison, and raping the daughter again to make sure she stays quiet but the detectives stop this from happening to her again just in time.
