Hello! I am looking for a Chinese drama that came out sometime in the 90s-early 2000s. I remember quite a bit of it, I just have no idea what it’s called!

The main guy falls in love with a girl who is a bird/parrot, and she gives up her bird powers to live with him on Earth instead of the bird realm. She gives up her power by opening her mouth and “calling” it out of her throat—it’s just a white ball that she puts into a box.

He is of course eventually seduced by another bird girl and steals his wife’s bird essence box and hands it over to her and his wife becomes really sick and she finds out that it’s missing because she usually doesn’t get sick like the humans do unless it’s gone.

The very last scene I remember, he is wandering the forest an old and worn man and searches for his bird wife who left him because of his infidelity and incompetence.

I would really appreciate any help—I watched this when I was 8 or younger and have such fond memories of it but have no idea what it was called.
