…and a staircase

This has been bothering me for years… it was a movie I saw as a kid, about a ghost… paint cans were involved and highly important… there was a scene with a staircase, and I think a well was important (can’t remember if it was a wishing well or what)… I literally can’t remember anything else except that there was a lot of blue in the colour scheme? If anyone knows what this is, that would be amazing!!
