When I was a child (so… let’s estimate 20 or so years ago), I remember seeing part of a movie – I think – where this woman looks at this male character in glasses who seems stuck in dirt; but by that I mean in an ornamental manner? Later on a female character either turns into goop and/or is eaten by goopy monsters? Like scooping up from the floor. That’s the best I can recall…
Two films come to mind where someone is turned to goop and eaten off the floor. Troll (1986) and the sequel Troll 2 (1990)
I agree with Sean Rosenau. It is Troll 2. It has the man planted in a pot and the goop person being eaten.
