Sounds very familiar to a movie called MouseHunt but that wasn’t a cartoon, but it had two brothers who inherit a string factory and an old house but there’s a mouse and they keep trying to get rid of it and in the end they end up befriending it and turning the string factory into the world’s first string cheese factory.
