I remember this 3d animated movie that followed this girl. She had a gun that every so often she would shoot into the air and the bullet would explode into something that looked like a memory. She did this 3 to 4 times and every time you would hear a screech. She ends up with a few guys in full armour who come in on a helicopter. They bring her to this base and see if she was infected by a phantom. One of the guys got infected and she saves him.

It was a Sci fi setting in a post apocalyptic world
