This was probably a TV or cable series with lots of episodes within the last 5 years and seen on Netflix.  A new England coastal town has a fog or other phenomena signaling the start of a new curse, where some member of town has a frightening cursed ability suddenly occurring, such as killing anyone they touch.  A female FBI agent works with the local police to locate, investigate, and cover up each fresh and unique disaster.
