I think i saw it around 1996-2000. It was on tv, in english and in color. I remember a scene where is a woman (the mother ??) (i think she was white and blonde) talking to a man in front of a park or a carousel and he tells her to look at her hands and there are scars or something.
It sounds like “The Forgotten” (2004), but it was a son she was looking for… the premise sounds very similar and there is a merry go round/spinning playground equipment scene where the heroine talks to a man who also lost a child.
