I remember this film, I think it’s from the 90s or early 00s, it follows the life of a teenage girl and I think that she lives with her grandmother or something? I don’t remember much of it, just that there’s this boy who likes her, possibly called Freddie, and she never likes him at all but one day she arranges to meet him at the beach? And she doesn’t turn up, and he ends up drowning. I think there’s a cutscene where he’s throwing her a frisbee. Anyway at the end of the film, she has to go to some formal occasion and she’s given a dress but she cuts it up and makes it more edgy. The grandmother person thinks it’s great, and when she gets to the place where the formal thing is happening, she meets a boy and says something like “I come from a faraway place”. I really can’t remember anything more. But I’m pretty sure the film has the word “Moon” in the title but I’ve searched and searched and no luck so far.
sounds like “Dancing on the Moon” though I haven’t seen it in a while.
