This movie had to be from the late 80’s – early/mid 90’s. It was a Christmas children’s movie (and Christian too, I think), the main actor was an African American man, there were a few children and a little dog puppet with glasses. I remember them making Christmas cookies. The dog could talk and he didn’t feel like he belonged, so he ran away- and the main guy found him in the snow, gave him a pep talk and brought him home. It was in English and in color. My mom thinks I must have dreamed it, but I KNOW it was a thing. Thanks

I found this thread looking for a similar movie, possibly the same one. The scene I remember is where the puppet dog is in a nativity play. Instead of gold, frankincense and myrrh, he says old frankfurters and fur. I can still see it in my mind, but I cannot place the name of it to save my life.

You’re my hero. Thank you!
All right, since Ben is not the OP I can’t mark this “Solved.” But I will credit Jacob with a Solve if he registers: http://www.irememberthismovie.com/wp-login.php?action=register
