I watched this movie on TV in second half of 90s, don’t remember if whole movie was about the situation with elevator or only its part. Probably it’s been a thriller. US/Canada or EU. I don’t remember original language – watched in translation.
The scene i remember – several people got trapped in the elevator in a big building, waited inside for a while, and when tried to get out (opened doors), a woman didn’t get out in time and was halved by elevator starting to fall down. I remember how elevator was hanging for a moment on her body and she was screaming.
I’ve checked few elevator horror movies, but didn’t find it. It also could be an episode of some series. Please try to find it.
The Shaft (AKA Down) (2001)?

I think maybe: https://youtu.be/cGy02Exgw44
No, elevator didn’t hang on woman here and it was about normal apartments building, not a laboratory or so. People were just inhabitants
Paper Man (1971)?

40th minute but not, that’s not it. There were other people in the scene. Thank you
Let’s say it’s SOLVED. Probably some details were my imagination, but overall feeling when doors open to a windowless room and floor counter are very familiar. The movie is far ahead of it’s time.
OK, I marked it Solved.
