60s Sci-Fi Featuring a Guy with a Visor

Back in the early 90s when I was like 5 or 6, I remember seeing on tv some old movie/show that involved a team of men, all wearing red outfits, and they were in a dessert-like location with plenty of rocks, and maybe some caves.   It may have been some sort of alien planet, but I’m not sure.  One of the members of the group seemed to have betrayed the others, and he wore a cyclops-like visor (like this) and acted in cold detached manor, while carrying around a ray-gun.  He might have been under mind control or something, but I’m not sure. The show had kind of a 60s Star Trek vibe to it, but I don’t think it was an episode of that.  There may have also been some western elements to it as well, but that might just have been due to the dessert location.  I’m pretty sure the show was from the 60s, though that style of visor seems more prominent in 80’s shows, so maybe it’s later or maybe I’m remembering the visor incorrectly.

    1. Hmmmmm.. maybe. I’m pretty convinced that it’s older than that, but I’ll take a look. Also was V something that got replayed over the years? Cause this was definitely early 90s (like 91-92ish) and was probably on during the afternoon.

  1. sounds like an episode of The Ray Bradbury Theatre called “And the Moon Be Still as Bright”(1990). It has the red suits and takes place on Mars desert surface. There isn’t really a visor, but the star(David Carradine) puts on a martian mask before he starts killing his fellow earthmen.

    1. Nope, doesn’t appear to be that, though it seems fairly close to my description. I decided to look through other Ray Bradbury adaptations, but still no luck. And the guy I’m thinking of with the visor was a much younger man than David Caradine, possibly with short black hair. And those scenes with him took place during the day time, as opposed to night.
