It starts out with her (a sort of a free spirit hippy gal) seemingly innocent concern to protect of her gifted child from negativity. But as it progresses she becomes deranged and begins to isolate him from school and the world, his genius is only in her eyes. She eventually tries to kill them both via car exhaust to keep from losing him to a girl. It was one of those that creep up on you, from mothers love to insane obsession.
