AMC ran a movie I saw around 30 years ago. A Korean War vet, I believe that’s the war, returns to the U.S. He buys a boat and sets out towing it behind his car on a cross-country trip. Along the way he meets and picks up a few people, who I think were kind of outcasts, perhaps like this rootless veteran felt. When the car breaks down, they put the sail up on the boat and “sail” down the road on the boat’s trailer. It was a black-and-white movie with a very upbeat tone and the look of a movie filmed on sets, even when they were outdoors. I’ve never found the name of this pleasantly surreal movie and would love to see it again. If you know the title, please let me know!
