I saw this movie at least 10 years ago probably longer but this week it popped into my head I can’t stop thinking about it and I can’t find it no matter how hard I try.it’s an American full length movie could be made for TV.
It was about a female speedboat mechanic who worked at her dads shop I think her name might of been Sam. A man came into the shop and I think his dad had some kind of a connection to her mother I think their dads didn’t get along.
I also think there was some kind of boat race not sure what kind but probably speedboat. Of course some kind of romance ensues and yada yada…
I’m not giving you very much to work with but any help would be greatly appreciated as this is annoying the crap out of me and I won’t be able to get it out of my head until I have found it.

Unfortunately not, I’m pretty sure this movie is newer. 🙁 Probably 80s-90s if not as new as early 00s. But thanks for the reply since this is really bugging me and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Usually I am pretty adept at finding things with keyword searches but not for this movie. So I think it’s safe to say it probably wasn’t a blockbuster.

Thank you, thank you. This thing has been driving me crazy for years. The problem was, I also kept looking for main character named Sam. Turns out the main character is named Max. I’m going to watch this movie again just so I can try and figure out how I thought her name was Sam.
