alright, so, there was this movie back in the 90’s, i think. it may have been a tv movie. it starts off with a writer or a director pitching a story to a movie studio about a dystopian future, set in a large metropolitan city where there’s basically no wildlife. the inhabitants of this society all consume various mood-altering drinks, and for some reason being overweight is in style. at some point the main character, a girl, is introduced, and somewhere down the line she comes across someone who has a butterfly in a jar, obviously something she’s never seen before. not realizing or caring for the value of the butterfly, this person accepts a slinky in exchange for the butterfly, and then somehow the movie becomes focused on preserving this butterfly. no clue what it was called, no idea who was in it.
