Animated movie about timetravel, a boy who tries to find his mysteriously lost grandpa

I remember seeing an animated movie about a teenage boy who tries to find his mysteriously  lost grandfather. The time is around the mid 1800’s or start of the 1900’s. The boy finds some weird notes, drawings, illustrations etc. in his grandfather’s old home/office, and finds out that they’re made for a time machine. He gets the machine to work, and travels back in time to an ancient-egypt-kinda dessert, where people live in igloos made out of glass. The people are very weird and are afraid of something. Later on in the movie he travels forward in time (to the 2000’s) where he meets a girl who skates. As said, it’s animated, the kinda style Disney or Dreamworks used to do beforehend (drawing style like in “Atlantis” or old version of “A Christmas Carol” or “Loulou de Montmartre”). Please help me! Thank you 🙂
